Instead of the quick reply showing by default, is there anyway to make it optional?
It is optional, User CP -> Edit options -> "Show the quick reply box on the view thread page."
Uncheck that option and it won't show.
In MyBB 1.2, theres an option which you can enable/disable Quick Reply globally in the Admin CP.
