i currently have mybb version 1.1.7 (117) one of the users forgot their password so tried to click on the send password link and it just keeps showing the login page.

i have the board setup with no viewing permissions unless your logged in. if i change the option for 'can view board' to yes then it works fine

so ive got it changed to where they can view the board but every forums permissions are set to disallow unregistered/not logged in users. using it this way it still shows the board statistics.

i guess my first question is why is the link there if it doesnt work? maybe if its not by accident that it doesnt work (maybe because i have the 'can view board' set to no) then just remove the link if that option is set. i think it would be a more userfriendly solution if you ask me.

my second question is, is there a way to disable the statistics view?

This is a known issue in 1.1.x, so your resolution is a good way around this.

Second question: Which one do you mean?

The Board Statistics on the Forum Index or the stats.php page?

Open the "index" template and remove this:

$forumstats

This will prevent the Board Statistics table from showing at all.
