This has bugged 2 of my members and me too. I login to the forums by using the quick login thing in the bottom right. It then says you have successfully logged in and takes me to my homepage(index.php). Then I find out am not actually logged in! I get the Login button at the top and I'm a not logged in guest! Is this a bug? Its been bugging 2 of my members...
Your cookie domain and path are probably set wrong.
For example, board stored at
http://www.example.com/forum/
Cookie domain: .example.com
Path: /forum/
The leading period (.) on the domain tells it to affect all subdomains too (effectively for users browsing with or without the www in the address).
Err...can u explain a bit more? I have a .tk address. Say it is abc.tk . And the place where all the data is..it isn't in a dir called forums, if you visit my site u r in the forums. The Forums are my homepage. So what should I do?
Admin CP > Settings > Change > General Configuration > Cookie Domain:
Quote:.abc.tk/
and Cookie Path, leave blank.
If you give me the exact url, I can give you the exact info you need to put in.
Actually, you souldn't use a slash on the cookie domain.
Cookie domain: abc.tk
Path: /
But as .tk's are just redirects you will have to set the cookie domain and path of your actual address.
