I don't like this one much either, it's better than your other mock up though. It looks as though it was designed for PhpBB rather than MyBB. If you round the thead, you should round the bottom of the table as well, all the text could use a bit of work, try some drop shadows here and there. The navigation needs a bit of padding
Is the inner shadow on the footer set to overlay? if not, set it to overlay or soft light and lower the opacity a bit. Get rid of the border surrounding "Home", it looks bad and out of place, it'd look better with that border if the rounded rectangle was a different color as well, rather than empty.
