I would like to use the portal function on a site, but I want to hide the board from all members that the updates are posted to. Is there a way to do that without the settings in the board. Like maybe something in the header to hide that certain board id or something?

You can do it via Acp.
Why do want to change header etc?
You can also do that with MyTabs. Just don't include the forum you want to hide in MyTab system.

I want the board to show up for the announcements on the portal, but not show up on the actual forum itself.
