On the Dashboard I can read:

Mysql 87 active users, what does this mean??
On the sametime there where 37 users online, so this must be something different.

I'm not 100% sure but I think it means the amount of users who have posted/logged in/been active that day.

No cannot because
707 users active in the past 24 hours (120 members, 12 of whom are invisible, and 587 guests).

It could be counting users that post in the day or the last few days.

Not every member posts everyday.
