Anyone Use Google Apps Gmail to send forum SMTP emails?
I tried using
Mail Handler: SMTP Mail
SMTP hostname: smtp.gmail.com
SMTP port: 465
SMTP username: Put in the registered e-mail account
SMTP password: Put in the registered password
SMTP Encryption Mode: TLS encryption
but emails were not being sent at all.. Is it allowed by gmail to use a google apps account to send forum emails? If so what are the setting that go here:
SMTP hostname:

SMTP port:

SMTP Encryption Mode:

Mail Logging:

Add message ID in mail headers:

???? reason being a lot of potential members are not receiving their emails through the PHP method. I'm using shared hosting.

Is it working for you bro?
These are the settings I'm using which are working perfectly for me now, found these via 3rd party forum somewhere last night.
SMTP hostname: tls://smtp.gmail.com
SMTP port: 465
SMTP Encryption Mode: No encryption
Mail Logging: Log Everything
Add message ID in mail headers: No

Well.. that's what is working for me at the moment. Not sure what email providers wont accept the emails but hopefully all of them do since the mail is from google servers.
