Im not sure where they are? Like I installed a plugin called prostats and now when I look on the index template it says $prostats

Where do I edit '$prostats'?

Do not understand wrong, may I ask why you want that you change it?

If you want to add prostats on your index template, i think you should add:

<prostats>

Some of the text I want different.

If you want to change some text there, plugin should have language file. There you need to take a look for that text

{$prostats} variable will call prostats template that is located under global templates.From there you can edit prostats look (also in global templates other prostats templates are located).

For laugnage phrases like JovanJ said you can edit prostats.lang.php located in ./inc/languages/english/prostats.lang.php .
