I know there is 'Poll on index' plugin but you need to type id of poll in settings to display right poll. What about creating a plugin which will check specified forums and automatically switch the current poll to the newest?

If that 'Poll on index' is storing Polls (and i'm guessing it is) in the DB u can get the creation date of each one and finally get the id of the latest and put a var instead of the ID itself...
