Around a few weeks ago after installing and then uninstalling Postfix (an smtp server) and my computer messing up and not booting correctly (because of uninstalling Compiz), all of the sudden my php server refuses to send php mail. I host the webserver on my local computer. I did use the test code provided and this is the end result. So as an alternative, I attempted to hook my gmail account onto the forum using SMTP, this also failed. Here is my configuration: http://www.worldofclucky.net/Gmail.png. Yes, the password is correct, yes the email is correct.
Also, if anyone knows how to fix a computer that only boots in failsafe graphics mode and not normally, please tell me. I think deleting xorg.conf would fix it, but I don't want to take any chances. I am operating off Linux Ubuntu 11.04 and my PHP/HTML server is hosted using xampp. I would prefer that PHP mail work rather than the SMTP, but either will be fine. The URL of my forum is http://www.worldofclucky.net/Forum
