I have the same problems these users have:

Since I updated my board from 1.1.1 to 1.2.0, in all of my content (forum descriptions, posts, etc.), special characters like é,è,à,ç, etc. are replaced by the white on black "?" character, even if the page encoding is set to UTF-8.

Disabling GZIP changed nothing, I'm using the default theme with no plugin, hack, language pack, or what so ever.

Do you have an idea of what the problem may be?

Nobody has an idea? Beta testers never encountered this?

I'm still waiting to open my boards, should I roll back my files and database and update at a later date when this is confirmed fixed, or is there a way out?
