Full Version: VPS Setup Tutorial

i would like to suggest to mybb, can we have some special tutorial page how to setup vps from the scratch that newbie like me who know nothing about vps especially unmanaged linux vps, so we can learn about it..

That is just for Ubuntu, got it with a simple Google search, so i'd say it isn't needed. http://www.howtoforge.com is virtually a "Wiki" with step by step instruction for installing LAMP. To run MyBB on a vps/server you just need to install LAMP (Or IIS on a Windows system).

yeap i know..But if mybb own their version how to setup the vps/dedicated. I'm sure it will help the mybb users itself..

Don't take this the wrong way, but the Global standard is installing LAMP. Additionally you can install APC, ans stuff like that, but LAMP is all you need, the rest is purely up to you. MyBB doesn't require anything specific for installation, it just needs Apache/IIS, PHP and MySQL. Nothing you can't find on Google.
Why would we write a tutorial on server setup? How you set up your server is down to you. There are dedicated sites for server administration and management whereas this is a support forum for MyBB.
