As you see above, the left hand side is perfect. It's got a gap between the
very left hand side, you can see the background to the left.
The right hand side, however it doesn't. I've tried messing around with the
margins, but no success.

That just makes the left hand side just as bad.
You never said if you wanted to remove margin or add margin, be more specific on what your wanting to do, if you dont specify we can only assume what you want.
margin-left: 10px;
margin-right: 10px;
That sorted most things. The sidebar isn't sorted though :/

You could just have altered (increased) colspan from memberlist templates.
