I was kind of hoping that my original version of this thread would have some answers or suggestions in it, but I didn't get anything, so I'm going to modify this thread and see if I can get any help from here.
A few key points of information:
• I've got MyBB installed in a sub-directory of my site root (thewastelandoutpost.com/forums).
• I don't use any custom DNS configuration(s) for my domain name.
After the recent scare here with the official MyBB site and past problems with spam and malicious bots, I decided to take preventative steps and sign up for CloudFlare. I let their scan find all of the information about my DNS configuration, and after applying the nameserver changes on my host side (and waiting for the name server changes to take effect), things appeared to be working for access to my index.html file, but any time someone (myself included) tried to access the /forums sub-directory to go onto the boards, a 403 error would come up.
I've got CF on pause right now so that this can be sorted out, but as I'm new to DNS configurations and custom tunnel services like CF, I'm not exactly sure what I need to do to have it and my boards running properly.
Any help is greatly appreciated on this issue.

Do you have the MYBB scrutinize IP option turned on? It sounds like you have permissions restricting access by IP & this is being thrown off because CloudFlare's IPs will show without you doing this.
My plugin simply sets the Scrutinize IP setting to Yes.
Admin CP > Configuration > Server and Optimization Options > Scrutinize User's IP address? > Yes
The above will make MyBB request the correct IP.
Thanks for the assistance with this issue Damon. It looks like that resolved the problem and now my boards and CF are working without issues.
