I am attempting to install the latest version of MyBB. Followed the steps verbatim listed on MyBBGroup. Got to the part that states "Time to run the installer to install MyBB."

I selected the install folder, nothing...
Opened the install folder, nothing...
Looked for an install script or file, don't see one...

What am I missing?

Additional info: I am doing this in cPanel File Manager, should I perform this from a different location?

You have to run the installer from your browser.
