Yes, you can.

Just follow the upgrade instructions in the Wiki.

Also, in the instructions fo upgrading to 1.2, it says to delete EVERYTHING... Won't my user's avatars be lost then?

Don't delete uploads folder :p

Can someone update the WIKI instructions regarding upgrade to 1.2. I agree that /uploads folder has to be there. Anything else we should keep?

Fixed the wiki. All you need is /uploads/ dir and inc/settings.php and inc/config.php!
