host name part says localhost too.
But no since changing that its still the same Sad
You need to contact your host, explain the error you're getting and that you've checked your database settings and they're all correct.

They just keep saying its not there side. Do i need to change that back to mysqli? I am also in th middle of changing over to Web Wiz and he has given me a test page for now and an error is coming up there too Sad
What error are you getting there?
At www.wirraltalk.co.uk it loads for ages then goes to a error, i think it was 2013

But http://www.wirraltalk.co.uk.temporary-domain.com/ is this error message

Quote:MyBB has experienced an internal SQL error and cannot continue.
SQL Error:
2002 - No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.
Query:
[READ] Unable to connect to MySQL server
What is the host actually replying to you with?
2002 - No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.
Indicates that the mysql server is down or a firewall is blocking it. It's saying it didn't accept the TCP connection request.

Ask your host to check the status of the mysql server and to check if any firewall is blocking it.

I was thinking that but surely it wouldn't happen on too different hosts would it? Confused

But saying that i have never changed databases before so i am hoping i have done it right but got nobody to double check it for me.
On http://www.wirraltalk.co.uk.temporary-domain.com/ I am getting that error.

On http://www.wirraltalk.co.uk I am getting no error, the page just doesn't load.
Just don't know what to do, can see me having to get shut and start all over again Sad
