I have uploaded the 1.6 to my webhost, I was able to complete the first two steps in the install instructions: Found here.

I have no idea how to CHMOD 666 or 777, or if my web host will allow it. The instructions you link to: namely this page is a dead link.

Since this is as far as I have gotten, and that without an FTP service (can't get it to work) that is all the information I have.

P.S. Is there an index page that I have downloaded in the files that would allow me to access my forums, or do I have to complete other steps before that is possible?

Thanks Nathan, as it turns out my web host doesn't support MSQL etc. as I thought it had, but at least perhaps the updated link will be of help to someone.
