To upgrade to mybb 1.2 from version 1.7 do we need to download the entire main new install from the home page or do we need to use the files in attachments on the announcement bulletin. The announcement says to use the files in the attachments and it also says to use the wiki, which says to use the whole install file set.
I think i figured it out, but the install is stuck on a page which says that the config.php file can't be written to. I made the file readable and writable in the server, but still am getting this error. Trying to change properties.
config.php and settings.php need CHMOD permissions of 777
so if you where updating u need to save them files frsit so u could upload them with mybb1.2 then u run the update php
ps add if you have files in your fourm uplaod file u aslo need tosave that to add with mybb1.2
