I'm currently working on my theme and was looking for some cool jQuery effects. I already have the sidebar but I want something like modal boxes for login/registration and others.

IMO, there's no point looking for "cool" JavaScript effects. If you see a case where user experience could be improved through the use of some fancy effects, use them. Looking to use effects for the sake of effects is tacky. Just my two cents.
