I receive atleast 10 hits from a web spammer almost twice a week. Should I block them or not? If I don't block them then my site would benefit from backlinks etc but then those web spammers would gather email addresses and send spam messages.
What should I do?

We actually have email obfuscation on by default, so bots would not be able to scrape email addresses.

Glad to help. That's why a lot of site owners configure it so comment links, for example, have nofollow.
