I was wondering why not create a system from now on every forum would be required to have a report page link and when some clicks the page then they will be taken to a form where they have to fill in some details and click report. The report will be sent to MyBB Staff not the MyBB board.

For example: I click the report page link on a thread on MyBB Central then the report will be sent to MyBB Public Relations Team or something.

It's pretty useless but for example, if a website is planning a terrorism attack or posted a persons personal data then someone can report the page so that MyBB Staff can take an official move to remove the contact and prevent some bad happening. If a normal user requests the content to be removed the websites staff might not remove it because they want content etc but if the MyBB Officials take it under consideration then the content can be removed.

For example: An admin created a page which creates PIDs, Serials etc so people who find it offence or something can report it so the MyBB Officials can request a removal.

Yes it is because we can't do anything about it. You could report a child porn forum with 100 million posts to us but we still couldn't do anything about it. We can't remove content from MyBB forums, it doesn't work like that. We're not a hosting service. We simply provide the software, resources, and support.

We have no jurisdiction over any MyBB forum apart from our own and we are not responsible for any content hosted on any other MyBB forum. Really, if someone is planning a terrorist attack I think you'd have a better chance of preventing it if you contacted Homeland security than the MyBB Group.

So what you are pretty much asking for is a backdoor in MyBB. A incredibly large Security risk which would give MyBB the option to take your forum offline.

And if you are just asking for a report version.. to report a site, i hope you realise that is not MyBB's job to do. Its your job if you see a site with "terrorist attack ideas" to go to the local police and report it. Not the job of MyBB.

If something is bothering you there is the police, and other services provided to ensure things are dealt with. MyBB is NOT the forums host so they cannot just get up and click delete on someone's website.

Run a whois search on the domain if need be and you should find information about the host they use. Contact them if you're worried about anything. They will be able to remove or suspend users forums if need be.

MyBB controls the software and the mybb.com site. They do not control the forums that are hosted using the software. If they did do you really think they would have a hack forum as the largest forum showing off myBB? No.

Seriously, who is going to plan a terrorist attack over a forum. Lmao.

Open source software doesn't have things like this. It's not going to happen.
