Since none of my gzip backups would work, I had to have my host restore it off their backup. (charged me of course)
I really don't understand why this did not work. None of the Emod backups would restore. When I would cut and paste into the PHPMyAdmin SQL area it would act like it was doing "something" and when it was finished no tables were uploaded. I even tried the Bigdump program and my back ups were full of errors as well.
So I have no faith in my backups or ability to restore them. I'm on 1.1.8 and would like to upgrade but right now I'm scared to death to do it.
What's the "best" format to archive? SQL? Zip? Any suggestions? I've read all the info on restoring and its pretty straight forward however none of it helped me at all.
