I would like to promote users to various groups based on their post count per unit of time. eg: 1 post a day, or 3 posts a week... etc.

For example, a user with at least 5 posts per day will be promoted to an elite user group. If their activity drops, they will be removed from the elite user group.

This is essential for my forum, any advice on where I can start to go about this task???
