No, the language file isn't checking for the presence or absence of an email. It's in the coding of mybb to check for that.

don't try to miss with the templates mate without any backup
removing the textbox from the template wont solve it
i think i know how to do it just give me couple of min to figure that out..

I did something similar.
I removed email1 and email2 as well as the validation check from the javascript in the template.
Furthermore, I removed it from member.php as well.
Still won't let me register.
MyBB should make it a feature to fully customize the registration for 1.8
Does anyone know how to help me?
