Agreed, this would be handy. It would also be handy if they could be excluded from stats as well - welcoming spammers is a bit pointless.

I like that you pointed out its antispam possibilities. Paired with a group structure, this could hurt spam by not immediately linking to their profile, and thus their signature and stuff.

I think this should be added in real quick to 1.8.

I like the idea if the user is banned they should not be able to be seen on the memberlist.

I agree, this is an option I would like to have.

I think they have that option in 1.6.8
