I'd like to create another box just like the signature I have underneath every first post in every thread saying "If you liked this thread then please share it on facebook"

ACP > templates and style > Templates > your theme templates > options > expand > Show Thread Templates > then i cant help you any more i'm afraid that i will give you wrong method and it will ruin your forum wait for mybb support team or a guy with more knowledge than mine

Thanks that was exactly what I needed, I have now added a facebook share box on the top of every thread.
