Full Version: Which would you choose successful website or forum?

websites are easier to run, in some cases they use less bandwidth. Websites are also easier to maintain, dont have to deal with spam and so on, you can also update content on your own time and may not feel the pressure of a community coming down on you. While with a forum you have to actively maintain you community. Getting the site active can take some time. Then there is the occasional spammer and hacker. Although the joy of having an active community is satisfying and you site will be interactive and engaging rather than simply feeding content people.
You may be shocked to learn that a forum is also a website.

But I understand the question. I'd prefer a "successful forum".
Forums are interactive Websites, so as blogs.
successful forum is what I vote for. Its dynamic, live, every time new.
I don't know, a quiet successful little money farm sounds good. Better than running after members and IE7 all the time.

This is a really weird way to describe a "website." So is http://dribbble.com/ a website or a forum? How about http://imgur.com, which is both a service and a commenting/dynamic content site?
