Something else... is it possible to set admin permissions for a specific usergroup? It won't even let me set them for each individual user.

Its not there. I couldn't find it...All that was there in my Forum Home settings :
Show Forum Descriptions?
Show Today's Birthdays?
Hide Private Forums?
Show Who's Online?

ah, not currently available. You'll need to add subforums to the description manually if you wanty to show them. And edit them (descriptions) each time you add/delete one.
Maybe this features could be in gold if it isn't already.
