Is there security issues or anything regarding this? I haven't done my research totally. But from what I know. Justin S. 's apart themes are going to be used in Mybb 1.8?
I request that once there isn't any issues or anything. That a new theme is added. I do not particularly like the default theme. Apart Black theme would be nice.
I would browse the forums, and be more active if this were to happen definitely!
Just making it an option would be sufficient, I do not see a reason why not. Unless said themes are incomplete in some way to be used for these forums?
What are you talking about? For the actual Mybb.com community forum they like to keep a uniform look with the rest of their website, and therefore only use one theme. For your software you can use any theme.
As Kolton said, we stick with the default theme as this site is meant as both a support site and a basic demo of a stock MyBB install.

Once mybb 1.8 comes out. The default theme is going to change to Apart Black, or w/e theme Justin S' or whoever made.
So what I'm saying is. Can we apply that theme to this website Now? I mean if the theme has a 1.6 version, and if there is no security issues should be good.
Or even just have it as an option (because might not match the overall website) would be cool...
It will be based on Apart, yes. And it won't be black, but rather blue. See the blog for some screenshots.
1.8 will be released sooner or later. There's no point in adding a new theme now.

Basically, I am assuming they'll customize this design on the forum to match the new default theme. They won't just go straight to that. And they most certainly won't be changing it now. It's not really a priority (IMO) to be worrying about this. It doesn't change anything.

I doubt they'll tell you man, they like to keep us in the dark and then surprise us.
And I'm guessing the new theme will be mostly like this (no point making a new one then changing their blog, main site, and such) just with the Apart's elements.

Its open source, so why should it matter "apart" - lol apart from ANY security issues.
ALSO if its just the forums? WHY?
Why not just make it an "option" for people that actually use the forums. Or even just a select group that applies for it, because they use it regularly.

It's open source, but they can't just go releasing information. When they're very sure about something and feel it's the right time they'll tell us. We don't develop it, they do. And I'm pretty sure they're under NDA.
And, because that's where the design matters. They'll make the website feel the same all over but the forum will have the largest change. I'm just speculating, of course.
