Yes, please specify your problem more clearly. Do you need to know how to add a favicon? If so, you really don't need a plugin for that.
Just upload a favicon.ico image file to your main directory.

I tried to do this and it doesn't seem to be working. To be clear, I've uploaded it to the root folder of my MyBB installation, is that correct? When I tried the plugins available they always fail saying they're not compatible with my version (1.6.8).

You should upload it to the site root. Call it favicon.ico and it will just work. It might take a little time to show in IE.

You don't need any plugins. It can take a few hours for the favicon to show, as the browser needs to recache it. Try clearing your browser cache.

Yes, upload the favicon to the root of your site. That's all you need to do - there's no need for plugins.

Check www.yoursite.com/favicon.ico to make sure it's there.

Yep it's there, I've also cleared my cache (holding ctrl+f5) and it still isn't displaying. I've also tried it in a fresh browser that has never visited the site and it still doesn't display.
