I would like to add a button for admins/mods to ban by IP straight from showthread.php. I would sware there was a write up on this in the forums, I just cannot find it with the search. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mods can't ban ips normally only users with access to the admin cp can ban ips. You will probably need a plugin but I will look into this. Also I have made a suggestion on your be half here and a plugin request here.
