I think he means better SEO links by default. Like allowing titles in the links as opposed to just numbers and the type of page it is.

1.8 isn't meant to be a massive rewrite - it was originally intended as only a minor feature release but has already grown into so much more. As such, features such as a change to the way URLs work is best kept till 2.0.

why not you are using vb then? mybb has its own function, no need to copy vb. donno why people always love to copy xf, ipb, vb etc in mybb..!!

in your site if you dont use chatbox its your own decision. but on my site we are just using chatbox because we filipinos loves to chat in our community AS ONE!

1, 3, 4, 7: Most of those are no suitable for a forum.

2, 6: I doubt those will make it before 2.0 if at all (mobile theme).

Well either way 1.8 is supposed to be coming out soon so I doubt any new features will be added at this point anyway.

Wordpress has been the only web software I've used which has SEO url's built in and I hope more software packages start doing this in the future also.

We never said it was coming out soon; its beta hasn't even been released yet. In the near future hopefully, we will be opening up the GitHub repository for MyBB 1.7 (the development version of MyBB 1.8) for others to contribute. After that, 1.8 beta will be released and after a period of testing MyBB 1.8 Gold will be published. We are still adding features at this point, though I'm 99% positive none of these will be included as they are either better suited as a plugin or for MyBB 2.0.

While i dont expect these to happen with 1.8 anymore from the whole list these seem to be the most important ones. Seems almost vital now a days to offer people that way of connecting, you can use it on almost any news site already so :/

But yeah untill 2.0 i think we will last with a plugin.

maybe please include a builtin facebook connect and twitter. So they will not register by typing they will just connect it

The login handler in 1.8 should make connections to 3rd party services a little bit easier for plugin developers.
