I know this is lame but I have just installed the latest version of MyBB and all is good except I cant for the life of me post a damn thing nor start a new thread. I have not changed the default settings either. I am obviously a newbe so any kind assistance is appreciated.

There seems to be a issue with your forum settings.
When you click a category it doesn't redirect.
Did you upload the .htaccess file to your web server?
Could you possibly disable the SEO URL setting found at ACP > Configuration > Server and Optimization Options > Enable search engine friendly URLs? = Disabled
If you want to use the SEO friendly URLs, please post the contents of your .htaccess file here or, if you haven't already, rename htaccess.txt to .htaccess via your FTP client.
