I'm in the middle of a tutorial video teaching me how to upload MyBB onto....I'm not even sure if I'm uploading it to a domain name or an actual url. Following the video's procedures, I now have a domain name, and I have uploaded MyBB using FileZilla, to somewhere...

So now I'm stuck at the "go to your url" part, at 4:24 in the video. Did he prepared a url in advance, before making the tutorial? Because all I have is a domain name he taught me to set up, and the MySQL information.

My domain name: slasher.hostoi.com
Hi,

The directory where you uploaded MyBB should be outbound on the webserver.

Did you visit a URL and complete the installation?

What is your domain? and what folder/if any did you upload to

It's an image of me using the Filliza to upload it to a target file. I think I uploaded it to exactly where the guy in the video uploaded to.

I went into my FTP Login and detail area (it's one of the place the tutorial visited) the folder to the uploaded file is:public_html
Go to http://member.000webhost.com login Click on the Go to Cpanel in to the right of slasher.hostoi.com and scroll down to Files click on File Manager and go to where you uploaded MyBB. First go to your main directory '/public_html/' then post here what other directorys (folders) you have there.

Edit: Your forum root is http://slasher.hostoi.com (If you uploaded to the public_html directory)

I have a folder name "Up..." It's probably "Upload". and a folder name ".htaccess" Its file type is "HTACCESS File"

Just those two.

Here's an image of what's inside my public html:

No you have uploaded MyBB wrong you need to upload it into '/public_html/' directory not the '/' directory.
As you can see here http://media.comicvine.com/uploads/12/12...56-__1.jpg on thr right it says remote site and its got 'admin', 'archive' & 'cache' and more. Thats the folders in the root directory.
What you need to do to get the MyBB stuff in the right directory is this:
  1. Go to the file manager that you used for this image: http://media.comicvine.com/uploads/12/12...71-__1.jpg
  2. Go to the root directory '/'
  3. Click All to select all items
  4. Then unselect these 3 items 'public_html', '.ftpquota' & ' DO_NOT_UPLOAD_HERE'
  5. Click move (top right)
  6. In the first box that has the button saying 'Set all targetdirectorys' to the left of it enter the text '/public_html/' (no quotes)
  7. Then click the button to the left of the box you just entered the text in
  8. Make sure that the boxes marked 'Different target FTP server:', 'Username:' & 'Password:' are empty
  9. Check over the files to see if their 'Target directory:' field has '/public_html/' (No quotes)
  10. Then click the green arrow at the top

Thank you sir, it worked perfectly (: Can you tell me how to block the install file? I'm at the last step. And he must have right clicked the install file and than clicked something else, I'm not sure what he did.
Looks like the URL you posted links to a working MyBB install. Is this all sorted now? If so, please mark this thread as Solved.
To lock the install file, the best thing to do is to delete it. Right click the install folder and select Delete (or Remove - can't remember which it is).
It's solved (: You can close it now.
