I have an backup of myold forum .iam installing new installation of mybboard.how to upload my backup?

I have tryed doing this but it doesn't work I made a backup from the admin cp there is no text file? only a file in the gzip folder? What do i do to restore my forums files?!?!?!?!
i think this is the pproblem i have as well i have a back up and tried the above but it didn't work. I have a text file in the gzip
you can upload gzip in myadminphp but if you want to get the text doc out from the gzip then you need a program to unzip i think winrar dose it but there are also may more programs that do it as well hope this helps
