One . . . and even at that pics should be a decent size. Animated signatures can be cool, but when I am new at a forum and every member has two or three big animated images in their signature and it is taking forever to load pages it just makes me want to go somewhere else.
Clearly the image count for signatures depend on each forum, but for this community I doubt more that one image is really necessary at all, they allow us to use two, I'm unsure why people would want three, really.

+1. I like to keep things concise.
I honestly don't even see the point in signatures. All they do is offer a place for spammers or advertisers to put links on. And they distract you from real content. Especially when users put big bolded messages and flashy images on it.
We can asks users to lower the signatures down some.

There are already signature rules in place. I don't think the signature rules here are often broken. Members have been fairly compliment with them.
