I have a very odd yet seemingly very common problem which is really
starting to make me go nuts!
I have 3 seperate websites but all on the same server. I have MyBB
forums setup on all 3. Two of them work absolutely fine and will
authenticate a new user via email without a hitch. Two websites
are setup with different versions of MyBB. One is 1.6.6 and one is
1.6.8. The third website also has MyBB 1.6.8. This one says it sent the
authentication email but it seems to just vanish into thin air! It's not
being returned, it's not going to spam but it's not going to the user
either. Must be getting sucked into a vortex or another dimension
or being re-routed to Atlantis? Anyway, the third website has MyBB
1.6.8 setup and everything is configured the same as the other two
boards that work. Here's the quirky little difference between the
forum setups... The obvious differences are some of the graphics,
boards titles and such but..... the two that WORK properly have
nanoskinners theme setup and the one that keeps screwing up has....
....(drum roll)........(symbol)....... The DEFAULT THEME!.. (crowd roar).
Could this have some effect? Kinda doubtful.
So should i consult the Mayans...check the big calendar...hire the
Ghost Hunters and get Steve and Tango on the case?
I didn't actually come here for an answer because i would only get
the same answer that 3,000 other people got which is NO ANSWER
and a whole bunch of did ya try this and did ya try that? This is more
for the ones still sitting there at their keyboards waiting for a REAL
ANSWER to come and we KNOW that somebody out there has a REAL
solution but is waiting and lurking in the shadows until EVERYONE
ELSE finishes saying ''test you server'' when you already know that
can't be the issue since you already have TWO other MyBB's working
with the same server!
Okay. I'm all better now that i vented. I'll let y'all know when i figger
it out.
