Hello,
I'm having this problem in the ACP. Another admin does not experience this same issue. It also started occurring after switching hosts and loading a backed up version of the database.
-I verified my cookie and domain matched the description via source code in chrome
-My domain (firstclassmogul.com) does not have a port
-I verified my cookie settings via the cookie setting generator
-Since I've been trying the issue in IE and Chrome I verified they were accepting cookies
-I deleted the cookies for both IE and Chrome (going all the way back to the start of time lol)
-I've had another admin verify the ACM>Settings>cookie settings to confirm
-Redeleted cookies in both browsers one more time to double check
Still cannot remained logged into ACP. I read the first few pages but did not read all 30 so I apologize if this solution is in there. Any help is greatly appreciated and please let em know if there's any details I neglected that could be helpful.

Thanks. It worked for me smoothly on the Forum URL:

Users are unable to logout after upgrading to 1.6.4 from 1.6.2.
Users are able to successfully login, but unable to logout. Clicking on the logout links returns the error:
"Your user ID could not be verified to log you out. This may have been because a malicious Javascript was attempting to log you out automatically. If you intended to log out, please click the Log Out button at the top menu."
I've deleted my local cookies, didn't fix the issue. I tried adjusting the cookie settings, couldn't find the correct settings to use.

I think I had a similar issue when I upgraded to 1.6.2 (from 1.4 I think), but I was able to solve it, I just can't remember how.
Hello.
I got some problems with my board.
The link of my board is
http://www.dehuiskamer.net .
The problems are that when I don't have WWW in front of my link, user's CAN'T login.
I fixed it temporily with the cookie domain at .www.dehuiskamer.net so my users can login if they are on the
WWW.dehuiskamer.net . url.
I want to get this fixed so I can login on both url's, cause i am normally not useing www, its quite annoying.
I got a test account for people,
login: test
pass: test12
Thanks in advance!
I just saw this. Thanks for the update. I had this problem when my site was forum.mysite.com
This thread basically fixed it!
some but not all members are getting a ip out of range warning when trying to log in, or register. I have no ip's banned, so not sure what the problem is, only affects a few

Hi - I've gone through this post carefully and followed the instructions.
General users can login, however admin users can't - no error is given you are just redirected back to the admin login screen.

I will provide admin user access - please PM me.
Cookie settings correct, settings file deleted & regenerated, CHMOD settings.php to 666.
Still can't login to admin.
Any help appreciated.
