After I've supposedly logged in, I get randomly logged out of my user account, usually when I go to the homepage. Sometimes I would also have difficulty logging out, taking me several tries.
I've done all the steps in the first post-- altered chmod, checked cookie paths, cleared my cache, deleted settings.php. I'm at a loss. Any help would be much appreciated.
Just thought I'd drop a quick thank you for this post. I was up late last night trying to fix my login issues, I wish I had come here first. This did the trick and I am a happy mybb man!

Hi,
I have installed myBB on the main domain as well as subdomain. Every time i login/logout from main domain, i automatically gets login/logout from the subdomain as well. Please help to solve this domain and subdomain both have mybb but both sites are different.
I have done the following settings for the cookies:
Main domain info::
URL:
http://example.com
Cookie Domain: example.com
Cookie Path: /
Sub domain info::
URL:
http://subdomain.example.com
Cookie Domain: subdomain.example.com
Cookie Path: /
Please help to solve this as its urgent

Set a cookie prefix on the subdomain. For example:
Main domain info::
URL:
http://example.com
Cookie Domain: example.com
Cookie Path: /
Cookie Prefix:
Sub domain info::
URL:
http://subdomain.example.com
Cookie Domain: subdomain.example.com
Cookie Prefix: subdomain_
I have the same problem, Nathan. I have two forums installed in the same domain, one in the main domain and the other and the subdomain. Basically, I have the same problem of deepak.vishwakarma.
I tried to add the cookie prefix and got a lot of errors in the header, also it still didn't let me login. I tried to change the cookieprefix in mybb_settings but the same happens.
Should I install again this MyBB copy in the subdomain but this type put the right cookie prefix?

Delete all cookies from that subdomain, then try to login.
If you change settings in the database it won't have any effect unless you delete settings.php as well.
Editing the settings shouldn't have caused the errors but if settings.php wasn't rebuilt properly, just delete and it'll rebuild itself.
