Your web host is extremely slow and the page isn't loading at all. It just says "waiting for..." Check the console for javascript errors. In Chrome, it's Menu > Developer Tools > Javascript Console.
I had an issue with my first site being a hassle with log ins, I followed this and managed to fix the problem... However, now my second site is doing something equally goofy but not as easily solved.... Only some of the people who try to log in have issues, and I only have issues on certain browsers at certain times... Like.... I can log into the site on Google Chrome.... Then other times I can log into the site on Firefox, but if I can access the site on Google Chrome, I can't access the admin section on Google Chrome I have to instead go to Firefox to access my admin section.... I've checked all the date multiple times throughout the last week... Yes I've come back to this for instruction.... But it doesn't do anything.... I clean out my cookies every single day.... And all the information I'm supposed to type in is correct.

This is actually becoming a bit of an irritation, as I've been trying to figure out what the trouble is and continue to come up empty. Sad

Please help me fix this !
My sub domain'd hosted site is here- > http://austere.calloftheprides.pw/
Please don't quote all of the first post (edited).

Please make sure your settings are as follows:

$settings['cookiedomain'] = ".austere.calloftheprides.pw";
$settings['cookiepath'] = "/";
$settings['cookieprefix'] = "";

Then clear your browser cookies and try again. Smile

You may access your main site with iasa.arabiansinsport.org but your forum is at just arabiansinsport.org so that's what you'll need to configure the settings for.

This was helpful. Thanks man
Dear members,

I have read the post about on how to set the cookie path etc. for subdomains.
It all works great, but no one here is actually talking about the problem that I am experiencing.

My host provider hostmonster.com has the subdomains set up so that you can actually reach your website sits in its seperate folder by only typing in the subdomain and not the sub and parent domain or parent domain and site folder.

Example:
subdomain.example.com (normal subdomain format)

Hostmonster has the parent domain masked:
subdomain.com (and you reach the same folder where the subdomain site is residing.

But....
Although I can reach the home page of the form, I cannot log in.

I found a post for the exact same issue for a word press forum, and they are showing a cookie hack in the php file that configures how the cookie setting works.

Does anybody else have the same problem?

I am surprised that no one has mentioned the same problem here.
It almost looks like that no one wants to use subdomains to mimic main domains, but I don't want to sign up for seperate hosting just because I cannot figure this out.

I already talked to hostmonster and they couldn't help me.

   Detailed description of your problem, including steps to reproduce if necessary

     Try to login with test_account
                            test123

   New installation or upgrade (from which version of MyBB)?

          1.8

   Test user account (if it requires additional permissions)

       see above

   Screenshot or error text, verbatim
        not necessary at this point

Anybody?

I know my post was long.
Here as a fast track to the problem.

Cookie settings work for the normal subdomain format:

http://thebluebirdcorner.oliverhanisch.com/

It also works for
http://oliverhanisch.com/thebluebirdcorner.com/

But it doesn't work for
http://thebluebirdcorner.com/

I tried at least 15 different settings and cleared cookies in between login attempts.

The one thing that the hostmonster guy noticed was that when trying to login

test_account
test123

that after it brings you back to the guest page you can click on memebers and it actually shows that you're logged in, but the URL address field changed to the normal subdomain and parent domain format.
Hello! My problem is related to this post:
http://community.mybb.com/thread-46415.html
ALL of our local users have the same IP, they are connecting to MyBB via corporate proxy. And it seems that MyBB just can't handle such scenario properly! Can this be fixed? Doesn't cookies and sessions are designed to handle such scenario?

p.s.: test smf board running on the same server works just fine...
Hey guys
I am variously getting

- When I login, the screen redirects and says I am not logged in. If I refresh browser, ok.
- I cannot log out

URL is forums.velonomad.com
.inc/settings cookie settings

settings['cookiedomain'] = ".forums.velonomad.com";
$settings['cookiepath'] = "/";
$settings['cookieprefix'] = "";

ACP settings, same.

If I change cookie domain to .velonomad.com it seems to work (except log out doesn't work)
Or, put forums.velononad.com in the path.

Any ideas?
