Is it possible to remove the comma at the end of the subcategories being displayed on forum home for v1.2? It looks kinda weird to have the seperator between the categories as well as the comma...

Seperators? You mean the on/off icons?
Go to Admin CP -> Templates -> Modify / Delete -> *your template* -> Forum Bit Templates -> forumbit_depth3
Delete:
{$comma}
