Well, yesterday, a site was working perfectly fine for me. Then today, I get an Xcache error even though I never installed xcache for anything. Is the server just down or is this my problem?

Is the site owned by you? Regardless, it is an issue with the server.

No its not owned by me, but I the guy who owns it is a friend of mine. I just wanted to know if this is something that is his server’s problem, not mine.

Yes xcache errors would be server side that only the sysadmin or site admin can fix.
