I have my ubuntu web server up and running and was wondering how you guys approach group permissions for folders and such? for example, I host a few of my own sites on my server and two sites for two of my friends. I want to have their user accounts restricted to their own respected folders, but I want my account that I use with my sites to be able to read, write and execute any of their files as well, so I can ssh or sftp into my box and do what I need to do under 1 login.
I've been told that this can get a little tricky because sometimes files don't have the appropriate permissions.
any suggestions/pointers?
