Okay, I have three child forums under this parent forum. It appears inside the parent forum, but it does not appear in the main page. What could be wrong?

Have you had a look at this setting and change it to 3. ?
ACP --> Board Settings --> Change --> Forum Home Options --> Subforums to show on Index listing
