If there is not a free plugin for it what do you expect them to do?

Why?' Becouse this site its not for advertise yours or main paid plugins,SMF not allowed this,Phpbb also not allowed this on official site,your never see any paid plugin

you: Looking for some very specific plugin.
mybb: Well there are none free. ?

Or do you want to suggest them only suggesting plugins from mods.mybb.com?
If so it has a search function for a reason.

So to sum it up:

"Because MyBB is free everything related to MyBB should be free (if suggested by one of the staff members)"

You know how silly that sounds? We life in a world were only one thing is important and that is money. And since creating plugins takes time, and is done by somebody its their full right to ask a certain amount of money for the time they invested into their plugins.

Be grateful MyBB is free because you could have easily ended up that something like MyBB would have costed a certain amount of money.

Also some of those plugins are developed by MyBB staff members them self, meaning its for them a way to get some money for their done efforts.

Cant see anything wrong with that can you?

if staff developed paid plugin best for mybb its price about 1000$,you cannot earn big money on paid plugin,you cannot earn nothing becouse you can find it free everywhere,paid plugin 3-5$ LOL.

You pay for the support, for the knowledge that the plugin you bought will get updated, and maintained. And if there are issues they will be able to support you by answering questions.

MyBB is released under the LGPL license, meaning people are allowed to release paid plugins and themes for MyBB is they so wish. Just because something is free doesn't mean everything associated with it is free.

The MyBB Group is proud of the developers who create high enough quality addons to our software that people pay for them; seeing as we think people deserve to be able to charge for their hard work, we have our license as the LGPL so people can sell paid mods. We support them by allowing them to advertise, they support us by helping make our software a better, more extensible product.

MyBB has many things phpBB and SMF doesn't have; just because SMF and phpBB do things one way doesn't mean we have to.
