Right now I have my forum on a subdomain. I want to move it to my main domain under a folder so it is "/forums." Is it possible to do this without breaking everything?
Change cookie path & board url in the settings ; close the board AND then move the files to your folder /forums
Check this thread, we just fixed it for someone else:

I did this. Everything moved over. I can access my adminCP and such with no problems. However, when I try to logon the forum, put in the username and password, nothing happens?

Could that be the cookies path perhaps?

my site is www.infinitedbzrpg.com/forums
Did you update the settings in both the database AND the settings.php file?
I did it in the settings.php, but not the database. What do I do for that part?

Take a look here for login/logout problems:

I guess it's about cookie.

I guess it's about cookie. And about database nothing is there to do about.

Yes it does. The cookie settings are stored in the database. Usually MyBB will go to the settings.php file for them, but occasionally it goes to the database. Plus, if he doesn't udpate it in the database and changes another setting, his settings.php will be overwritten. The settings.php is generated based on the mybb_settings table.
Solved. Thanks guys!
