Seems Google is making a big move into the way web development will work. As a big fan of Google simply because mostly everything they do is better than anyone else and it's usually free I'm pretty optimistic for this project.

Here's a video briefly explaining it:

The site: http://dartlang.org

- Thoughts?
"Building apps with Dartium is fun". About as much fun as that video was.

This will probably end up like Go. Just another Google control.
Didn't Google try this before with some other language? Pretty sure they did and it ended up as a mere memory. I wouldn't be surprised if the same happens here. If anything, I'm more excited by Microsoft's Typescript.

EDIT: As Tomm M said, what I'm thinking of is probably Go.
This won't take off I believe. Not every browser going to integrate it. Same as the vbscript by MS thingy.
@crazy4cs: Typescript is just compiled down to JavaScript. Dart will probably do the same.
I'm aware of that, but I still doubt this would go far.

Edit: I'm not sure if Dart is going to do that, let's see.
Right now they say "Dart can be compiled to JavaScript" which is interesting wording.
Looks exactly like Java to me.
