I don't know if it's cause of cloudflare but I haven't been able to connect to my ftp all day

We're not your host. Talk to them.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Cloudflare does mess with FTP.

You need to go to: ftp.yourdomain.com Cloudflare adds the subdomain

This. Make sure to add the ftp. before your domain name.

What exactly is the error? Is it just timing out?

The error is he is using Cloudflare and Cloudflare requires you to use ftp.domain so your ftp traffic gets through its filter. IIRC all other subdomain a only allow port 80 unless you specify otherwise, thus his ftp traffic is being blocked.

Make sure you don't have the orange cloud active on the ftp record in your DNS settings (settings->DNS settings). It won't work in this way, so you really want to make sure that the record is marked with a gray cloud.

I fixed it.
