Is it possible to have a specific thread unlisted in the threads list but able to link people to it through the actual thread link. Like how YT has the Unlisted feature for videos, or Google Docs and "Anyone with link" option.

Edit the forum, for the usergroup, click "Set Custom Permissions". Uncheck "Can View Forum" and check "Can view threads within forum".

But I just want selected threads.

What I want is to have a Testing subforum but to not list threads in that subforum but to be able to access the thread if your friend PM's you the link to his thread. Just wondering if it's possible.

"Can View Forum" applies to all forums doesn't it?

No, set custom permissions for that specific sub-forum.
